Honesty and Transparency
ASCO conducts all affairs with honesty and transparency. We provide truthful information to stakeholders, donors, partners, and the public. We do not misrepresent our work, finances, or impact.
Accountability
ASCO holds itself accountable to the communities we serve, our members, and our donors. We maintain accurate records, submit to appropriate oversight, and welcome scrutiny of our work.
Fairness and Equity
We are committed to fairness and equity in all our dealings. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, language, religion, nationality, disability, or any other status. We actively work to challenge inequality.
Do No Harm
ASCO takes care to ensure that our programmes and partnerships do not cause harm to individuals, communities, or the environment. We assess potential risks and take appropriate steps to mitigate them.
Conflict of Interest Disclosure
All Directors, staff, volunteers, and consultants must disclose any personal, financial, or professional interests that could conflict with their duties to ASCO, in accordance with Article 25 of the ASCO Constitution. Disclosures must be made in writing and recorded in the organisation's register of interests. Where a conflict is identified, the affected individual must recuse themselves from related deliberations and decisions.
Code of Conduct Compliance
All staff, volunteers, Directors, and consultants are required to comply with ASCO's Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics. Compliance is monitored by the Executive Director and reported to the Board. Breaches may result in disciplinary action, including removal from office or termination of engagement.
Anti-Fraud and Anti-Corruption
ASCO maintains zero tolerance for fraud, bribery, and corruption. Financial controls, segregation of duties, and regular audits are applied to prevent and detect irregularities. Any suspected fraud or corruption must be reported immediately through ASCO's protected reporting channels.
Responsible Partnerships and Due Diligence
ASCO enters partnerships only with organisations that share our commitment to ethical conduct, human rights, and the rule of law. Before entering any partnership or accepting funding, ASCO conducts due diligence to ensure the counterpart's values and practices align with our own. We do not accept funding or support that would compromise our independence or values.
Whistleblower Protection
In accordance with Chapter 24 of the ASCO Constitution, ASCO protects the rights of individuals who report unethical conduct in good faith. No person will face retaliation, dismissal, or other adverse consequences for raising a genuine concern about ethical violations, fraud, or misconduct. Reports may be made to the Executive Director, the National Chairperson, or through an anonymous reporting mechanism.
