About Us
ASCO is a South African-led civic organisation dedicated to promoting African solidarity, social cohesion, constitutional values, human dignity, accountability, and peaceful coexistence among all people living in South Africa and across the African continent.
Vision & Mission
Vision: To build a united Africa where all people live in dignity, peace, mutual respect, and shared prosperity.
Mission: To promote African solidarity, defend human rights, encourage civic participation, combat xenophobia, and advocate for social justice, accountability, and inclusive development.
Founded and led by South Africans, ASCO seeks to create a platform where communities can address social and economic challenges through lawful engagement, civic participation, and constructive dialogue.
What We Value
Standing together across communities and borders in shared purpose.
Every person is entitled to be treated with respect, regardless of origin.
Upholding South Africa's constitutional values and the rule of law.
Holding institutions — and ourselves — answerable to the communities we serve.
Acting honestly and transparently in every engagement.
Advocating for fair treatment and equal protection under the law.
Equal access, equal voice, and equal opportunity for all people.
Pursuing change through lawful, peaceful means — never through violence or vigilantism.
Building trust and mutual understanding between communities.
Encouraging every person to participate actively and constructively in civic life.
Our Position
ASCO rejects xenophobia and collective blame. We acknowledge citizens' genuine concerns regarding unemployment, crime, corruption, and service delivery challenges — while maintaining that criminality has no nationality and must be addressed through the rule of law, not mob action or vigilantism.
Immigration and documentation matters are the responsibility of state institutions, not private citizens. We call for dialogue over division, peace over violence, and unity over hate.
Strategic Objectives
Promoting understanding and trust between communities across South Africa and the continent.
Supporting institutions that govern fairly, transparently, and within the rule of law.
Advocating for transparent, answerable leadership at every level.
Facilitating constructive conversation among communities to resolve tension before it escalates.
Building bridges of solidarity and mutual support across the African continent.
Encouraging every person to engage actively and lawfully in civic life.
